Thank you for using Count Down. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our application. We value your privacy and are committed to being transparent about our data practices.

1. Information we collect

App‑provided data (local only)

We do not collect any personally identifiable information from users. The app does not request, store, or transmit your name, email, location, contacts, or any personal data. All timer and scheduling data (e.g., countdown names, alarm times, repeat settings) are stored exclusively in a local SQLite database on your device. This data never leaves your device.

Data collected via AdMob (third‑party advertising)

We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements. AdMob may collect the following information to deliver and personalize ads:

IP address – used for geolocation (country/region) and ad targeting.
Android Advertising ID (AAID) – an anonymized identifier for ad personalization and frequency capping.
Device & network data – model, OS version, carrier, language, screen size, and network type.
Ad interaction – impressions, clicks, and engagement metrics for campaign performance.

All AdMob data is handled under Google’s Privacy Policy. We receive only aggregated reports and do not have access to personally identifiable information (PII).

2. Permissions

The app requests only the minimal permissions needed to provide its core functionality. Below is the permission we use and its purpose:

Alarm Access Used to set alarms and manage countdown timers. This allows the app to schedule notifications and ring alarms at the specified time. The permission is used solely for the intended feature – we do not access or store any alarm data outside of your device.

No other permissions (e.g., camera, location, contacts, storage) are requested or used. The app does not run background services except for alarm scheduling, which is handled by the Android system.

3. Data storage & security

All data – saved timers, alarms, countdown schedules, and preferences – is stored locally on your device using a SQLite database. We do not sync, backup, or upload any data to external servers or cloud services. Since all data remains on your device, you have full control over it. You can clear all app data at any time via your device settings (Settings → Apps → Count Down → Storage → Clear Data) or by uninstalling the app.

AdMob data is transmitted over HTTPS and handled according to Google’s security standards.

We integrate exclusively with Google AdMob for advertising. No other third‑party SDKs (analytics, crash reporting, or tracking) are used. AdMob may collect device information as described above. For more details, please review Google’s privacy policy:

Ad personalization opt‑out: On your device, go to Settings → Google → Ads and enable “Opt out of Ads Personalization” or reset your advertising ID.
Permission management: You can revoke the alarm permission via your device’s app settings. Note that this will disable alarm features.
Data deletion: Since all data is local, you can delete it by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.

6. Children’s privacy

Count Down is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. As we collect no data ourselves, there is no risk of unintentional data collection from minors. AdMob may use age‑screening parameters to serve non‑personalized ads to users under the age of consent.

7. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Effective Date” at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or via the Google Play listing.
